Do you want to check out Madrid from a different angle? Then come with us to the Viewpoint on the roof of Cibeles Palace! Our visit will be accompanied by an official guide of the palace, who will teach us about the fascinating history of Cibeles Palace.
Please Note: The visit will be conducted only in Spanish.
History
Originally, this building was used for communication. It was the largest post office in the world, even larger than Chicago’s post office! However, in 2007, Palacio de Cibeles was given a new function: now, it is the seat of the Madrid City Council (Ayuntamiento). With the change in function, the building also underwent some changes, including the transformation of the original mail sorting office into the council chamber.
Today, this huge building has many attractions and exhibits inside, which you may not have expected from an old post office! Join the Smart Insiders team as we explore the incredible viewpoint of the Palacio de Cibeles.
