Come with us on a free walking tour: El Retiro is a charming tour where you will learn about the history of the places located in the 4 corners of the park.

History

El Retiro received its name from Parque del Retiro or Parque del Buen Retiro. It is a historic garden and public park located in Madrid. It was built in the first half of the 17th Century as part of the landscape project. With 18 gates, the park opens daily at 6:00 am and closes at 10:00 pm (22:00) in winter and midnight (00:00) in summer (April to September).
